Gamefam Brings SpongeBob and TMNT to Roblox!

The first company that uses Roblox as a game development platform, Gamefam, is once again making waves in the web3 gaming realm. This time, having joined forces with Paramount's Nickelodeon, the renowned blockchain games developer is to bring the iconic SpongeBob and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon franchises to the Roblox metaverse. Both gamified experiences are scheduled to launch by the end of 2023.

Paramount's Senior Vice President Doug Rosen emphasized the importance of bringing these beloved franchises to new platforms like Roblox. Gamefam's expertise in creating and managing large-scale, live-operated worlds makes them an ideal partner for this venture.

Why Did the Team Choose SpongeBob and TMNT?

SpongeBob SquarePants and TMNT were chosen as the focus for these virtual experiences due to their immense popularity, but their presence in the Web3 world has been limited so far. While SpongeBob has a game in Nickelodeon's Nickverse, TMNT's only game, Turtle Trouble, dates back to 2007. The new Roblox games will likely incorporate elements from these previous releases and introduce exciting quests and features.
