A presale is the pre-sale of assets. In the context of the cryptocurrency market, it refers to the early stages of selling a cryptocurrency.

Developers launch presales to attract funds for further project development and to cover other expenses. Investors who are granted access to the presale receive cryptocurrency in return at an attractive rate. With the project launch and the listing of the coins on cryptocurrency exchanges, their value can increase significantly. Therefore, participating in a presale can provide an opportunity to profit from early investments in cryptocurrency.

There are many different types of initial digital asset sales on the market, but the most popular is the ICO. The term refers to an Initial Coin Offering. ICOs and other types of initial sales are derivatives of the classic IPO, which stands for Initial Public Offering on the stock market.

In the context of an ICO, a presale is a preliminary sales stage that developers can conduct before the full public coin offering is launched.

Crypto project teams have the right to set their own presale requirements and choose the method of payment. Some teams sell coins to early investors for fiat currency, while others exclusively accept cryptocurrency.
